TINA DICHARIA
Living the island lifestyle has always come naturally to Tina DiCharia of The Simmons Team. Tina was born on the beautiful island of Hawaii, and from there spent part of her childhood in Indiana before finally settling in Florida. Tina has resided in Southwest Florida since 1984 and considers herself a Florida native.
Tina has been a Certified (Nationally and State of Florida) Court Reporter for over 30 years. She owned and operated a very successful court reporting agency (DiCharia & Associates Court Reporting, Inc.) for over 20 years. She maintains her certifications and still performs court reporting for select clients. With this training and experience, Tina’s attention to detail is unmatched.
She has extensive experience in community involvement. Tina has been on the Board of Directors for P.O.L.O. Club of Lee County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the YMCA, and currently on one of the United Way Allocations Team, and three-year term Board of Director for the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Realtors Association.
Tina is married to Gus Simmons, Esq. (son of Sanibel Realtor, Glen Simmons and Tina’s real estate partner) who is a local attorney and who is also a Realtor. Tina has one daughter in college at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, who is her pride and joy.

GLEN SIMMONS
Glen R. Simmons was born and raised on a cattle farm in north Missouri near Kirksville. He graduated from Green City MO High School. After graduation he became a member of the Missouri Bar and a registered Patent Attorney. Glen is licensed to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals. Glen also worked 13 years as a Patent Examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in D.C.; Other items of note: Recipient of four Superior Performance Awards while working in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Glen is married to Dr. Marcia E. Fowler who has operated a general medical practice, served as a Pathologist and more recently as a Psychiatrist. He has two sons with Marcia; Dr. Walter Simmons, who is a Board Certified Emergency Room physician in Ft. Myers, FL; and Augustin “Gus” Simmons, a Florida attorney who has his own firm practicing real estate and domestic law in Ft. Myers, FL. Daughter-in-law Tina DiCharia, wife of Gus Simmons, currently works with Glen as a Realtor at the VIP Office on Sanibel Island, FL. Glen and Marcia have routinely invested in real estate and currently own a farm in Missouri and rental properties in FL, MO and DC.
Other Interests: His two great grandchildren, Isabella and Dominic; Stained Glass; Cardinal Baseball; Missouri Tigers; Florida Gators; ‘Noles and Redskins football; draft horses; old, two cylinder John Deere tractors; sustainable small farms; wildlife – especially Bison; learning about history; Washington National Cathedral; and Yellowstone Park.
